Diekema Taekwondo garners its name from its sole instructor, Clint Diekema, a multi-black-belted champion martial artist who strives to bolster student self-confidence via daytime and evening kickboxing classes. All sessions, open to ages 10 and older, begin with methodical warm-up exercises and a rehearsal of some of kickboxing's core movements, such as threatening eye squints. After awakening hibernating muscles and swathing fists in an optional pair of boxing gloves, a horde of defiant thai pads (padded shields that enable injury-free striking practice) emerges from the far corners of Diekema Taekwondo's 3,000-square-foot facility to challenge pupils as they practice kicking and punching. After bookending the 45-minute class with additional kickboxing core movements, kickboxers leave with calories burned, more agile limbs, and the ability to adjust ceiling fans via roundhouse. Diekema Taekwondo offers contact and no-contact classes as well as special martial-arts classes exclusively for women.

Limit 1 per person, may buy 3 additional as gifts. Must be 10 or older. Must sign waiver. New customers only.
